Having been enraptured by jazz at an early age, singer and pianist Ida Sand was inspired by greats including Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway and Aretha Franklin. She seamlessly moves between jazz, blues, funk and gospel which together produces an irresistible combination. Ida Sand touches the heart and soul with her expressive voice and fantastic piano playing. This time she emphasizes her take on the blues and the closely related music of Ry Cooder, Muddy Waters, Etta James and Billie Holiday, among others. Recorded at Fasching, 2017.
